Valentine’s Day Rundown

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we often find ourselves in panic mode trying to suss out last minute plans.  Well, fret no more because we’ve got you covered!

Whether you’re coupled up, living the single life, a fan of the lovey-dovey holiday or totally anti-Valentines Day, Chicago has tons of great things going on this holiday for you to check out.

Here’s our top picks of things going on in the city:

For those with four-legged friends:

Three Dog Bakery’s Lincoln Park location will be hosting a Valentine’s Day event with Fetch Portraits on Feb. 13th from 12-4PM.  Owners in the neighborhood are welcome to bring in their pooches for a one of a kind photo session with Fetch. $15 of the $25 (per dog) cost will be donated to New Leash on Life Dog Rescue.  What better way to show your pup you love them than with a personal photo session?

For those with a sweet tooth (and big heart):

From January 31 through February 13, Chicagoland Panera Bread locations are working with The Make-A-Wish Foundation to help children’s dreams in their communities a reality.  When you purchase one of Panera’s delicious heart shaped, Valentine’s Day cookies, 10 cents will be donated towards making Make-A-Wish children’s wishes come true.  If that doesn’t warm the soul, we don’t know what will.

For those looking for a romantic night out:

Rockit Bar and Grill will be cooking something special for you this coming Valentine’s Day.  Their chef has prepared a candle-lit menu of romantic favorites for dinner in the dining room to recognize the occasion.

Menu will include:

  • Brie Cheese Fondue – with assorted baguette, sliced apple, dates. $9
  • Pan Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops – with a butternut squash risotto, toasted pine nuts, dried cranberries. $14
  • Surf & Turf – a braised beef brisket, whipped potatoes, jumbo shrimp, asparagus, lobster cream sauce. $21
  • Flourless Chocolate Cake – with raspberry sorbet. $8

Call to make a reservation because that food is already making us drool!

What are your plans for this year?
