Standard Market, Westmont’s local, quality-driven Market, is hosting two major events this September: Back to School Bash and Q7 Ranch Farm Dinner. Both events blend some tasty education, community support, and a worthy cause —not to mention the amazing chef-inspired food!
Back to School Bash, September 8, 2012
This looks like a great event for my family, with live entertainment and face painting alongside sample stations and new menu additions. Meal ideas perfect for school lunches the kids will love and family dinners, it’s time to branch out from the standard PB&J this year.
Families that donate a school supply will receive a free Standard Market reusable bag and for every dollar spent on highlighted items, 10% will be donated to local school organizations. Additionally, patrons who spend $100 will receive a $25 voucher for lunch at Bakersfield!

Q7 Ranch Farm Dinner, September 22, 2012
Do you ever wonder where the meat sold in your grocery store comes from? Most stores could not or would not tell you; but Standard Market is offering an evening on the farm! Q7 Ranch raises grass-fed cattle, one of many reasons I shop at Standard Market for my grilling needs.
We’ll be bused to the Q7 Ranch in Belvidere, take a tour of the ranch, and see firsthand where our cattle come from. The part I’m most looking forward to, we wil sit down for a luxurious meal prepared especially for the evening. My inner foodie is practically drooling over the six course meal, each dish paired with a flavor-compatible drink. Each course highlights fresh ingredients and the finest cuts of meat available at the ranch.
Incredible food, a worthy cause, and fabulous company? The bus to and from the farm, a tour, six course meal, and drinks … What more could a hungry Chicagoan ask for?
