Challenge: To generate significant media attention for the grand opening of the Jay & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago. Motion PR was in charge of strategic media relations for the grand opening itself as well as complementary stories surrounding the Center and neighborhood prior to the event.

Approach: Motion PR encouraged local media in Chicago and surrounding suburbs to raise attention for the new Kroc Center, which was officially open to the public on June 16, 2012. We highlighted the impact the Center would have on the local youth and communities, emphasized the athletic and cultural opportunities, and drew attention to the unique facility, in part by showcasing the politicians and local celebrities who supported it.

Outcome: Every major local print publication including the Chicago Tribune and Crain’s Chicago Business covered the center, and the Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Parent even featured dynamic photo galleries. Motion PR also secured broadcast stories with WBBM-AM radio as well as TV features with ABC, NBC, FOX, WGN, and CSN Chicago.
