Challenge: Beginning in 2012, Motion PR was brought on-board to aid the Over the Rainbow Association (OTR), a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the quality of life for people with physical disabilities through the creation of affordable, barrier-free housing solutions. Our team was tasked with raising awareness of the non-profit’s cause, its residents, and also its annual fundraising event.
Approach: Utilizing OTR’s existing assets, including its longstanding mission and inspiring resident stories, our team reached out to media across Illinois. While many were unaware of OTR initially, the organization’s commitment to helping those in need shined through, turning the heads of print, digital, and broadcast media.
Outcome: Over the course of our three years working with OTR, our team secured routine coverage for the organization across the state of Illinois. Placements in outlets such as Chicago Sun-Times’ Splash and WCIU-TV helped to highlight the Over the Rainbow Association’s fundraising events, while pre-recorded segments with WLS-TV showcased inspiring resident stories and print pieces in the Courier News and Southtown Star shined a spotlight on the organization’s rich history and continued mission.
