Challenge: Motion PR began working with Michael Best & Friedrich, a leading law firm, in the winter of 2014 to help elevate their brand in Chicago through expert analysis, thought leadership and lifestyle pieces. While the Firm had a strong reputation for its expertise in intellectual property, litigation and labor and employment relations, the office needed to get this message out through legitimizing itself as a thought leader and worthy rival within the highly competitive Chicago legal landscape.
Approach: To build its brand awareness, Motion PR took a proactive, assertive approach, ensuring Michael Best was in the news just as much as the bigger Chicago law firms, utilizing all media channels and several tactics, including submissions for awards and speaking engagements.
Outcome: Over the course of a year, Motion PR garnered a number of key placements, both locally and nationally, securing an average of 2 placements per month and reaching nearly 4.5 million readers/viewers. Local placements include Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Business Journal, Chicago Tribune, WGN-TV, FOX Chicago, WLS-AM, WGN-AM, and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. National coverage included Bloomberg News, Bloomberg TV, Wall Street Journal, Law360, NPR Sound Opinions and Intellectual Property Magazine.
